“I can never read all the books I want; I can never be all the people I want and live all the lives I want. I can never train myself in all the skills I want. And what do I want? I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experience possible in life. And I am horribly limited.”
This is one of my very good friends Yusef and his girlfriend. Last week, he was diagnosed with Leukemia. He is one of the sweetest person I have ever met. He’s 16, and is an amazing student. His girlfriend is standing by him through everything, and everyone is supporting him. He had to shave his head for therapy. He’s fighting through it all and he WILL get through it. He WILL beat cancer and he WILL be a survivor. I love Yusef, everyone does. And his girlfriend is his number 1 supporter.
Stay strong Yusef.
I just want to add that Yusef is only the 11th person in the United States to be diagnosed with his form of Leukemia this year. It is extremely rare, and very hard to treat. The average life span after being diagnosed is 7.5 months. I still believe in him though. I believe he can beat the odds, because he’s the strongest person I know.
